Earth Day Science Hike

April 26 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Dive into Earth Day festivities at Crystal Cove State Park with a special Earth Day edition of our immersive science hike!

Join us on April 26 for an ocean-side adventure that blends exploration, conservation, and community. In celebration of Earth Day, we’ll roll up our sleeves to remove invasive plants and clean up our sparkling shoreline, all while discovering the park’s fascinating geology and ecology with a Conservancy educator. This hands-on experience will allow attendees to learn about local ecology while making a direct, positive impact on the environment. The hike is moderately easy and about 2.5 miles long.

During our hike, we’ll explore topics such as:

  • Fire ecology
  • Ecological restoration
  • Coastal engineering
  • Marine conservation
  • Native vs. non-native species and their impact on natural communities and ecosystem functions

When: 10:30AM – 12:00PM
Where to Meet: Education Commons in the Historic District

What to Bring:

  • Sunscreen
  • Water
  • Hat
  • Comfortable footwear suitable for walking on sand and paved trails
