Sunset Bluff Beach Walk

Join a park naturalist on a beautiful Sunset Bluff and Beach Walk on Sunday, September 22 at 6pm at Crystal Cove State Park.  Learn about the unique cliff and marine environments and the native plants and animals these support.  Bring camera and binoculars.  Meet at Pelican Point parking lot #2 near the parking lot (PCH coastward at Newport Coast, left at kiosk to the end.) $5 sunset rate.

Autumnal Equinox Sunset Hike

The fall equinox marks the end of summer, and beginning of fall, when the days and night are equal length.  Celebrate the season on a guided Autumnal Equinox Sunset Hike on Monday, September 23 at 6pm at Crystal Cove State Park.  Join a Park Naturalist on this moderate one-hour hike.  Meet at the Berns Amphitheater (PCH inland at stoplight School-State Park, follow signs towards the campground.)  Wear sturdy shoes, bring water, and dress in layers.  $5 sunset rate.

Sea Glass Jewelry Making Activity

Enjoy a free sea glass jewelry making activity from 10:30am-4pm every Wednesday in the Education Commons in the Historic District at Crystal Cove State Park (Park in the Los Trancos lot – PCH inland at stoplight Los Trancos then walk across the street or take the shuttle.)  Learn how to turn sea glass into a one of a kind creation.  $15 day use fee..

Beach Scavenger Hunt

Join park naturalist Ranger Alex for a fun, kid-friendly Beach Scavenger Hunt September 28 from 2-3pm.  Search for natural treasures left behind by the ocean and learn about the coastal marine wildlife found in the park’s Marine Protected Area (MPA.)  Bring water, sunscreen and a hat. Meet at the Reef Point Parking Lot (PCH inland at stoplight Reef Point, turn left after the entrance kiosk and meet at the south restroom building.) $15 day-use fee.

Tidepool Walk

Enjoy a 0.1 afternoon low tide at Crystal Cove State Park where a park naturalist will lead a guided tidepool walk to Pelican Point on Saturday, September 28 at 2pm and help identify animals and describe some awesome adaptations.  Meet at Pelican Point parking lot #2, at the top of the boardwalk near the parking lot (PCH coastward at Newport Coast, right at kiosk to first lot.)  $15 day-use fee.
