Significant construction activities are taking place in the Crystal Cove State Park Historic District. The construction process includes installing all new infrastructure and restoring the remaining cottages for public use as overnight rental cottages.
Construction activities will be most noticeable from the upper bluff cottages. Cottages #18, #29, #38 & #39 are located near the construction project entrance. The cottages located in the lower hollow will not be affected.
Construction activities are limited to weekdays from 8:00AM to 4:30PM, with no work on State or National holidays. Access to park facilities will not change.
The construction process may at times cause some inconvenience but we are certain that any short term inconvenience will be more than offset by the long term benefit of adding 22 additional overnight rental units all of which will be available to the general public.

1. Registration/ Arrival Requirements
The person named on the reservation must be present and provide a reservation voucher or confirmation number as well as a valid photo ID.
The need for an accessible cottage must be specified when the reservation is made. The person to whom the proof of disability was issued does not need to be the reservation holder, but must occupy the cottage for the entire stay. Valid proof of disability must be presented at check-in. Accepted documentation includes a valid permanent Disabled Person parking placard, Disabled Person license plates, Disabled Veteran license plates, a California State Parks Disabled Discount Pass, or similarly reliable documentation issued by another governmental entity. The reservation will not be honored and all fees will be forfeited if no qualified occupant is present or credible proof cannot be provided.
The nightly rates are based on each unit’s maximum occupancy. Occupancy limits will be strictly enforced and any party that falsely represents the total number of guests in any unit is subject to immediate eviction without refund by Crystal Cove State Park law enforcement officers.
RESERVATION USE AND STAY LIMIT: Reservations are for personal use only. Resale, transfer, for-profit use, or other unauthorized activity is prohibited. Crystal Cove Beach Cottages has a seven-night maximum per calendar year. Reservations made under multiple user IDs to bypass the limit will not be honored.
2. Check-In and Check-Out
Check-in time: 4PM-9PM
Check-out time: Prior to 11AM.
Upon arrival, guests will be required to provide identification and a credit card for the mandatory City of Newport Beach Uniform Transient Occupancy Tax of 10%.
A courtesy guest shuttle is available for guests checking into individual cottages to take you and your belongings to your cottage from the check-in lot and back to your vehicle. You will then need to move your vehicle to the Los Trancos Parking Lot, located directly across Pacific Coast Highway from the Historic district.
Except those staying in an ADA cottage/room and have been given an overnight parking pass to accompany their valid Disabled Parking Placard, no guest vehicles are allowed to park in the Historic District. Guests staying in an accessible cottage or room may park in the Historic District only with a valid disabled parking placard and an overnight parking pass. Validated parking is available for up to two vehicles, subject to the vehicle limit shown for the reserved unit. Additional vehicles are subject to current State Park day-use parking fees.
EARLY DEPARTURE: Guests who leave before their scheduled departure may request a partial refund. If approved, the refund will be reduced by two nights’ fees, the nonrefundable $8.25 reservation fee, and the $8.25 cancellation fee.

5. Cancellations, Modifications, No Show & Early Out Policies
CANCELLATION POLICY: This policy applies to reservations with arrival dates on or after July 1, 2026. The $8.25 reservation fee charged when the reservation is made is nonrefundable. An additional $8.25 cancellation fee will be deducted from any refund due.
Seven or more days before the reservation start: all nightly cottage fees will be refunded, less the cancellation fee. Two to six days before the reservation start: the first night’s fee will be forfeited; remaining nightly fees will be refunded, less the cancellation fee. Less than two days before the reservation start: no refund; all fees paid will be forfeited.
For cancellation purposes, the reservation starts at 12:00 p.m. on the arrival date, not at cottage check-in. Allow at least 30 days for refund processing.
MODIFICATION POLICY: Reservations may not be modified.
NO SHOW POLICY: Reservations are held until 12:00 p.m. on the day after the reservation start date. If the guest has not arrived or contacted the cottages by that time, the reservation will be considered a no-show, all fees will be forfeited, and the remaining reservation will be cancelled. Three no-shows within one calendar year will result in a 365-day restriction on making reservations through ReserveCalifornia.
If arrival will be after 12:00 p.m. on the day after the reservation start date, notify the Cottage Front Desk by 12:00 p.m. each day to hold the remainder of the reservation. Call 949-497-2096 and leave a message if staff cannot answer.
6. Park Closure or Evacuation
If the park is evacuated or closed, California State Parks will make every effort to notify affected reservation holders. Refunds for nights when the park is evacuated or closed will be initiated automatically; allow time for processing
