Take a step back in time with an affordable overnight stay in the restored Crystal Cove Beach Cottages in Crystal Cove State Park’s Historic District in Newport Coast, California. Built as a seaside colony between 1920 and 1940, Crystal Cove’s Historic District endures as an enchanting retreat for visitors who appreciate the opportunity to experience California’s natural and architectural beauty, untouched by time.

We invite you to experience Crystal Cove as it existed from 1935 to 1955 in one of our 24 cottages. With fourteen individual cottages and ten dorm-style cottages with private rooms there’s something for everyone. Located on the beach or overlooking the seaside from a bluff top, each cottage has been painstakingly restored to preserve the architectural charms of the original structures.
Reservations are available year-round.

North Beach Restoration Update

The Conservancy is thrilled to announce the last tranche of funding has been secured for the North Beach Cottage Restoration Project, allowing the first group of eight newly restored North Beach cottage rental units to be open. With investment from Bank of America, The Conservancy secured the last tranche of $10 million for the $55 million restoration project by securing Federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits on the project, a method that incentivizes investment in restoration projects on historically significant structures providing a means to secure capital for construction and tax relief to the investor. Significant construction activities are taking place in the Crystal Cove State Park Historic District. The construction process includes installing all new infrastructure and restoring the remaining cottages for public use as overnight rental cottages.

Construction activities will be most noticeable from the upper bluff cottages.  Cottages #18, #29, #38 & #39 are located near the construction project entrance. The cottages located in the lower hollow will not be affected.

Construction activities are limited to weekdays from 8:00AM to 4:30PM, with no work on State or National holidays. Access to park facilities will not change.

The construction process may at times cause some inconvenience but we are certain that any short term inconvenience will be more than offset by the long term benefit of adding 22 additional overnight rental units all of which will be available to the general public.
