Connect more deeply with the natural world through the art of field sketching. In this hands-on workshop, artist Sarah Hafeez will guide you in observing and drawing the beauty found in our tidepool ecosystems at Crystal Cove State Park. Using simple, accessible techniques with chalk pastel and pencil. Whether you’re new to sketching or looking to refine your practice, this session invites you to slow down and see nature through an artist’s eyes.

Meet Your Artist Sarah Hafeez

Sarah Hafeez is a Canadian born graphic designer, illustrator, and humanitarian. She has a passion for Islamic art, history, nature, children’s animations and charity work.
Sarah has worked in the creative industry for over 20 years, designing, creating, and illustrating various works. She is currently celebrating 5 years as an Art and History instructor at The Art and Wilderness Institute in California, where she teaches watercolors and clay.
When she isn’t creating, Sarah enjoys spending time with her three wonderful daughters and husband. In her spare time Sarah works with Open Arms In Kayseri, whose mission is to help refugee Mothers displaced by war.
Sarah is the recipient of our 2023-2024 Raven of the Year Award which is given to the teacher who displays the spirit of teaching that makes students crave more learning!
