Inspired by this year’s theme, Art of Preservation, Creative Currents invites you to experience Crystal Cove through a new creative lens. Discover local artists and artisans, enjoy live demonstrations and hands-on experiences, explore original art and handcrafted goods, and take part in special programs inspired by the park’s extraordinary landscapes and natural beauty.
Whether you’re creating something of your own, meeting the artists inspired by Crystal Cove, or simply enjoying a beautiful day along the coast, Creative Currents offers something to discover around every corner—all while celebrating the creativity, community, and stewardship that help preserve this special place for generations to come.
An Artful Evening with Quin Cooney

An exclusive member appreciation event featuring artist Quin Cooney, celebrating the connection between art, nature, and conservation.
The evening will include a live painting demonstration and artist talk, paired with conservation interpretation by Conservancy staff to connect Quin’s work to Crystal Cove’s landscapes, ecosystems, and stewardship mission. The event is designed to provide members with an intimate, mission-driven experience while highlighting art’s role in inspiring a deeper appreciation of the park. Light refreshments and time for informal conversation with the artist will encourage engagement and community building.

Turning the Tide on Ocean Plastics Workshop

Discover how art and conservation come together in this hands-on workshop presented with Laguna Outreach for Community Arts (LOCA). Learn from a Crystal Cove Conservancy Conservation Biologist about the impacts of ocean plastics and marine debris, then join LOCA teaching artist Liz McGee to create a nature-inspired artwork reflecting what you’ve learned. Participants will leave with their own artwork, a deeper connection to our coastal ecosystems, and simple ways to help protect our beaches and ocean.
