THIS SUMMER, CRYSTAL COVE ALLIANCE IS HOSTING NEW COMMUNITY DAYS EVERY WEDNESDAY IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT.An exciting program launched recently by CCA, Community Days takes place every Wednesday in the Historic District’s Education Commons through Aug. 27 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The public is invited to enjoy Crystal Cove as Community Days bring the Historic District alive with fun, retro-inspired activities that will take visitors back to the 1920s, ’30s, ’40s and ’50s in the park.
Open to everyone, the Wednesday programs feature a rotating schedule of activities that range from playing historic games like Yahtzee and Old Maid to public sketching classes with era-appropriate models and still life arrangements. There also will be Lindy Hop dance sessions, lively barbershop quartet performances, historic radio shows and sea glass wrapping. Visitors can also stop by the Beaches Film & Media Center (Cottage #13) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to learn about movies that were filmed in Crystal Cove or step into Cottage #22, the Park and Marine Research Facility, to discover scientific studies done in the Park.
