Discovery Series Birding 101

April 25 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am

Members Only Event: Learn how to access exclusive member events and programs today!

Kick off our Discovery 101 series with a guided introduction to birding at Crystal Cove State Park.

Led by a local birding expert, this small group experience begins with a brief, beginner-friendly overview before heading out into the field to explore the Cove’s coastal habitats.

We’ll walk the scenic bluffs in search of native and migratory species, learning how to identify birds by sight and sound while observing their behavior in real time. Along the way, participants may encounter coastal sage scrub specialists and other seasonal visitors, with the added bonus of sweeping ocean views.

No prior experience is needed. Whether you’re brand new to birding or looking to sharpen your skills, this is a relaxed, hands-on way to connect more deeply with the natural world. Binoculars or spotting scope and regional bird guide are encouraged, but not required.
