2026 Earth Day BioBlitz – Solstice Sea Star Search

April 25 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Celebrate Earth Day with a hands-on BioBlitz adventure at Crystal Cove!

Join Crystal Cove State Park and Crystal Cove Conservancy naturalists for a fun, beginner-friendly experience exploring the vibrant life of our rocky tidepools.

We’ll start with a brief introduction at the Education Commons before heading into the intertidal zone to search for sea stars, anemones, sea hares, hermit crabs, and more. Along the way, you’ll help document what we find using the iNaturalist app, contributing real data that supports ongoing research and helps scientists and land managers better understand and protect this special coastal ecosystem.

Whether you’re new to tidepooling or simply curious to learn more, this is a unique opportunity to connect with the coast, take part in community science, and discover the incredible biodiversity just beneath the surface.
