Thomas the Beach Cat

Retired coastal legend from Crystal Cove State Park. Now fully committed to indoor life.

Thomas the Beach Cat spent years living at Crystal Cove State Park, where he became something of a local icon—charming fries and ahi tacos away from Beachcomber and Shake Shack diners.

These days, he’s retired—and thriving.

He has taken to indoor life with real dedication: soft places, quiet mornings, and proximity to
his people.

He is social without being needy. Present without being loud. The kind of cat who makes a space feel settled.

A gentle diet is probably in his future as he’s put on a pound or two now that he doesn’t have to sing for his supper, but no one has had the heart to insist.

  • He would prefer not to share his retirement with another cat. We’ve tried. He’s not interested. He thinks dogs and kids are hilarious though.
  • Litter box trained
  • Healthy, vet checked
  • Fully adjusted to indoor life but would love a protected garden to explore
  • Excellent at being around

He’s ready for a home where nothing much happens.

If you want a sweet, steady presence in your home, who can sometimes be mistaken for a very calm bobcat, this is your cat. And we’d love it if you brought him by the Cove once in a while.

Please text or call 858-357-5746 or email Kate@crystalcove.org.

PS: comes with his own limited supply of personal merch.
