Trista Movius
Terrestrial Programs Education Coordinator
Trista (she/they) is the Terrestrial Programs Education Coordinator at Crystal Cove Conservancy, where she supports the consistent implementation, delivery, and development of backcountry programs. She graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Science & Policy as well as minors in Biology and Sociology from California State University, Long Beach. There, Trista gained specialized experience in wildlife biology, ecological research, and environmental stewardship.
For two years before joining the Crystal Cove team, they volunteered at Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve as a member of Reserve Watch, further strengthening their passion for ecology, wildlife monitoring, and science communication. As an educator, Trista also has four years of experience as a science and math tutor at the K-college level, which has aided in their ability to strongly deliver and adapt environmental knowledge in the facilitation of our programs. She originally started at Crystal Cove Conservancy as an Education Specialist in 2024 where she was able to incorporate her academic and previous volunteer experience to facilitate a wide range of education, conservation, and public programs.
When she’s not exploring and sharing the unique features of the Cove with students and the public, Trista especially enjoys wildlife photography, whether that be locally within Southern California, at national parks such as Yellowstone and Grand Teton, or abroad! She loves getting to observe wildlife in their natural habitats and marvel at the beauty of our wild spaces.
