Nick Burciaga

Special Projects Manager

Nick Burciaga is the Special Projects Manager in the Office of the CEO at Crystal Cove Conservancy, where he helps turn ideas into action. He
works closely with the CEO and leadership team on organizational  planning, board engagement, long-term goals, and to keep  cross-department projects moving in the right direction. His role supports not only the Conservancy’s day-to-day operations, but also its ability to grow and make an impact well into the future.

Nick brings over a decade of experience in outdoor recreation and property management, with a strong background in leadership, program development, and community engagement. He has designed and led programs that connect people to nature, guided large-scale community initiatives, and built systems to support growth and accountability within organizations. He is passionate about helping teams succeed while creating meaningful experiences that inspire connection.

Outside of work, Nick loves spending time outdoors and finding new ways to challenge himself. He’s completed several Ironman triathlons, and is an avid backpacker with some of his highlight trips being completing the John Muir Trail and completing all of New Zealand’s Great Walks.

He also volunteers with the Orange County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team as a way to give back to his community. Nick loves taking walks on the beach, walking along the bluffs with his dog Luna, and exploring the State Park’s backcountry trails—whether hiking or mountain biking with his wife, friends, and coworkers. As a photographer, he especially enjoys capturing those unforgettable Crystal Cove sunsets he can never pass up.
