CRYSTAL COVE ALLIANCE’S EXPANDING BOARD OF DIRECTORS HELPS BUILD OUR COMMUNITY REACH.CCA and the Park have an extended community of supporters through our 18 dedicated board members, with each bringing us even closer to the community. Across Orange County, these board members represent a diverse array of industries, which makes it possible for CCA to form valuable connections that strengthen our efforts in the areas of conservation, education and restoration. From finance to hospitality services to university research to public relations and more, each professional brings a different skill and a piece of their own network to share in he vision for Crystal Cove.
Here, meet just three of our board members who represent how the power of community can help preserve Crystal Cove for years to come.
Victor Nichols: One of our newest board members, Victor plays an important role in expanding the reach of our new corporate partners program. As CEO of Experian North America and Experian Consumer Services, he brings the full strength of his company as he and other employees help with conservation efforts at Crystal Cove (be sure to read “#takebackthecanyon” in the From the Field section of this issue for more details).
Bill Baker: As chairman of the board, Bill is instrumental in helping CCA bring in more innovative programming—particularly with the Orange County Boy Scouts of America. In addition to working as an attorney at his firm, Baker & Baker, Bill is also on the Council Executive Board and board of directors for the Orange County Boy Scouts, which has resulted in an exciting partnership and several programs that help educate troop members as they earn badges.
Al Bennett: With Al on the board, CCA’s strong relationship with UCI only continues to evolve. Al, who serves as the vice provost for academic initiatives at UCI, helps connect CCA to the entire research community at the university and beyond, thus increasing the opportunity for CCA to advance our mission of education in the Park (learn more about UCI and CCA’s partnership in “Working Hand in Hand” in the Making a Difference section of this issue).
