DESCRIPTION:Calling all scientists! Join us as we take to the tidepools on July 7th at 8:00 AM as we participate in Snapshot Cal Coast! Snapshot Cal Coast is a statewide effort hosted by the California Academy of Sciences to document diversity in California’s tidepools. During the event\, we make observations and document the organisms that call Crystal Cove home to create a snapshot of local biodiversity. We will be taking to the tidepools of Crystal Cove State Park to monitor the intertidal life of our State Marine Conservation Area and identifying the species that call Crystal Cove’s tidepools home\, using the iNaturalist app! Data gathered from this event will be shared with the team at the California Academy of Sciences for the overall Snapshot Cal Coast project! \nRSVP IS REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT! \nFill out my LGL Form!

SUMMARY:Meet the Artist: Gobind Boyes
DESCRIPTION:Join us on the outdoor deck of the Park Interpretive Store in the Crystal Cove Historic District for Meet the Artist: Gobind Boyes. Attendees will get the special opportunity to meet with Gobind and watch as she paints a masterpiece right before your eyes! \nGobind has always had a love for the ocean and gardens. She started painting the rolling hills of Southern California as a child. Growing up in a family that appreciated art\, she graduated from California State University Long Beach in Art. Gobind worked for many years in retail advertising as an illustrator and production artist before leaving to raise two children. Outside of mom activities she found time to create printed products of her watercolors and sold them at several local gift stores. By 2004\, she started painting seascapes in oil and was inspired by an art teacher that said her work was reminiscent of 19th century paintings. Then later joined local artist organizations that she enjoyed Plein air painting\, shows and sales events. Although she still loves Plein air painting\, painting in layers of colors in old master style is most inspiring. \nEvent is free to attend! \nWhen: Wednesday\, July 5 from 11:00AM – 2:00PM\nWhere: Park Interpretive Store in the Crystal Cove State Park Historic District\nParking: Please park in the Los Trancos Parking Lot. There will be a $15 Day Use fee per vehicle; free with State Parks annual pass.
