DESCRIPTION:Celebrate over 100 years of plein air art at Crystal Cove State Park and spend a relaxing day capturing the beauty of the Cove on canvas with the help of a Crystal Cove plein air artist! No experience required; this introductory class is recommended for novices only. \nAll supplies will be provided! Class size is limited to 12. Minimum age is 16. DESCRIPTION:Join Crystal Cove Conservancy on the Cottage Check-in Deck for a conversation between the President of Resources Legacy Fund\, Avi Garbow\, and Conservancy President & CEO\, Kate Wheeler\, as they discuss coastal conservation issues\, including the relevance of smaller marine conservation areas like Crystal Cove\, climate change\, and the many facets and power of environmental advocacy. \n\n\n\nThe Conservancy’s Cove Talks aim to bring influential individuals working to change the world to Crystal Cove State Park\, as they share a diverse collection of experiences and viewpoints. These talks are another step towards connecting the community to the natural world\, while deepening their understanding of issues facing local parks\, the coast and the planet.   \n\n\n\nWhen: Wednesday\, August 7\, 2024 at 4:30PM with a sunset reception to follow\nWhere: Cottage Check-in Deck in the Crystal Cove State Park Historic District\nParking: Please park in the Los Trancos Parking Lot across PCH. He also is President of RLF affiliated organizations\, Fund for a Better Future and Shared Ascent Fund. Avi Garbow is a nationally recognized environmental leader\, lawyer\, and advocate with decades of experience tackling many of the most critical threats to our air\, water\, lands\, and communities. He most recently served as Patagonia’s Environmental Advocate\, providing strategic leadership and vision to the company’s robust environmental advocacy efforts. Avi has held senior leadership positions in several Presidential administrations\, including serving as Senior Counselor to the EPA Administrator in the Biden Administration\, and as the Senate-confirmed General Counsel at EPA in the Obama Administration. He has also led the environmental practice of an international law firm\, and served as a federal environmental crimes prosecutor in the U.S. Department of Justice. Over the course of decades of public service\, Garbow has helped lead diversity\, equity\, and inclusion efforts across several administrations\, including significant advancements in honoring Tribal treaty rights in federal environmental regulations.
